The One Form Everyone Forgets: Your Thailand Digital Arrival Card

Somewhere between booking the flight and packing the bag, almost everyone forgets this one. It's not a visa. It's not optional. And missing it is the easiest way to get stuck in a slow-moving line at Suvarnabhumi wondering what you did wrong.

The TDAC — Thailand Digital Arrival Card — replaced the old paper TM6 form. Every non-Thai citizen fills one out for every entry, no matter what visa you're on or how long you're staying. Tourist, retiree, DTV holder, doesn't matter. If you're not a Thai passport holder, this applies to you.

Here's what it actually involves: your passport details, where you're staying (with the exact province, district, and postal code — vague addresses get flagged), your flight or vehicle info, where you've been in the last two weeks, and a short health declaration. It's free. Takes about ten minutes once you have your details ready.

Timing matters. You can submit it anywhere from 3 days before you land up to the moment you land, through the official immigration site or the THIM app. I tell every client: do it the night before, not in the taxi to the airport. Airport wifi is not the place to be filling out government forms under pressure.

One more thing — this isn't a substitute for your visa. It's a tracking and health declaration form that sits alongside whatever visa or visa-exempt status you're traveling on. People conflate the two constantly, and it's an easy mistake to make now that everything's digital.
